Michigan's comic and pop culture convention scene is bigger than most people realize. Between Motor City Comic Con in Novi, Grand Rapids Comic Con on the west side, Cherry Capital Comic Con up north, and a tight calendar of regional shows like C2PC Expo at Dow Diamond in Midland, there's a con worth driving to almost every month of the year.

Capital City Comic Con
March 14–15, 2026 Lansing Center, LansingMid-Michigan's spring kickoff. Strong artist alley, indie comics focus, and a celebrity guest slate that keeps growing year over year.

March 21–22, 2026 DeltaPlex Arena, Grand RapidsSmaller spring sibling of the October show. Great way to scratch the con itch before convention season hits full speed.

May 15–17, 2026 Suburban Collection Showplace, NoviThe 600-pound gorilla of Michigan cons. Three full days, 100+ celebrity guests, premier cosplay competitions, and the biggest dealer floor in the state. If you only do one Michigan show a year, this is usually it.

May 30–31, 2026 Grand Traverse Resort, Traverse CityNorthern Michigan's flagship con. Family-friendly, gorgeous lakeside venue, and a strong tabletop / gaming track in addition to comics and cosplay.

Summer 2026 (TBA) DoubleTree Detroit – Sterling Heights, Sterling HeightsGenre-fiction-leaning con with a horror and indie-film bent. Smaller footprint, but a passionate crowd and great panels.

October 23–25, 2026 DeVos Place, Grand RapidsWest Michigan's biggest pop culture show. Massive cosplay presence, a deep comics guest list, and one of the friendliest crowds in the Midwest.

That's usOctober 30 – November 1, 2026 (Fri 4–8pm, Sat 10am–6pm, Sun 12–5pm) Dow Diamond, MidlandMid-Michigan's pop culture experience. Vendors, cosplay, the upstairs Fandom Lounge with karaoke and games, and door prizes every 15 minutes — all inside a working baseball stadium. Family-priced (kids 12 & under free) and centrally located between Detroit and Traverse City.

October 30 – November 1, 2026 Renaissance Center & Huntington Place, DetroitMichigan's largest anime convention. Not a comic con strictly, but a must-mention for the cosplay and pop-culture crowd — 24-hour programming and a legendary masquerade.

- Family-friendly weekend? C2PC Expo in Midland is a three-day show (Friday 4–8pm, Saturday 10am–6pm, Sunday 12–5pm) with kids 12 & under free, easy parking at Dow Diamond, and a kid-scaled vendor floor.
- Anime & cosplay focus? Youmacon in Detroit is the heavyweight.
